I recently discovered GitHub Pages, a free way to host websites. More precisely, the documentation says it's a "static site hosting service that takes HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files straight from a repository on GitHub, optionally runs the files through a build process, and publishes a website."
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. So far, I'm happy with the service. It was easy to set up, and the pages load fast. I would recommend GitHub Pages to anyone familiar with HTML and CSS looking to host a simple, static website.
You need a GitHub account to get started. You can connect a custom domain, like I have, free of charge, or use "username.github.io", GitHub's default option.
